We've hit mid summer and the sun isn't playing. My freckles have emerged, sunscreen is my moisturizer of choice and my hair is turning a warm auburn. With such nice weather, I have been outside everyday this week working in our yard, walking our dog, frequenting parks and swimming like a fish.
Although fall will always be my favorite season, it's funny how much summer makes me feel renewed. It calls us to sit and reflect (I recently did some reflecting of my own in my 23 Things post - see here) and inspires us to move forward with a new outlook and new goals.
One of my goals this year is to be bolder. Not outlandish or reckless, but to take bigger risks this year or do something that puts me out of my comfort zone. Being bold and laying it all on the line takes courage and is rarely done correctly.
This can mean doing something wild from your bucket list that you've never done before, but it can also mean starting small and broaden your horizons with music, literature or fashion.
For this look, I went out of my comfort zone and wore these Gold Moon Sseko Design statement earrings. I usually stick to small studs or pearls, so sporting a bold piece like this was a risk for me.
I was worried they would not easily mix and match with the other items in my wardrobe, but have found that I can creatively style them with many items that I own. I loved how they paired with this jumpsuit for a fun night out last weekend or how they completed this fashion week look I wore to the Cake Plus Size Fashion event back in April.
I could have easily put in a pair of pearl earrings and had a finished look that I liked, but making the decision to be bold by adding in these Sseko earrings made the outfit fun and flirty and I have to say I LOVED how this outfit turned out!
